About this book
The Accumulation of Capital is a work by Rosa Luxemburg, translated from the German by Agnes Schwarzschild, with an introduction by Joan Robinson. This translation dates from 1951. The contents begin with Section One, The Problem of Reproduction.
In one passage the author asks what constitutes the problem of the reproduction of total capital, noting that the word literally means repetition or renewal of the process of production. One passage shows how, at the most primitive level of civilisation, the possibility of resuming production depended more or less on chance. A later passage discusses Rodbertus and property relations, and another quotes Capital, volume one, on the productivity of labour.
