About this book
The Autobiography of Arthur Young is a work by Arthur Young. A letter asks whether the recipient has his horse and can come over at a proper time, and proposes to travel together a thousand miles. The letter says that M. de Calonne is exiled, so is M. Necker.
An entry set at Woburn on the 18th says that the writer came with Lord Sheffield yesterday and detests this profanation of the Sabbath, but yielded like a fool when urged to accompany him. A great dinner is listed with Lords Albemarle, Ossory, Ludlow and the Duke of Manchester. Prince Potemkin, the Russian Prime Minister, sent three young men to England in the care of M. Smirnove, chaplain to the Russian Embassy. Mrs. Cousmaker, sister to the writer’s mother, died in her house at Bradfield.
