About this book
The title page credits The Boy Inventors' Radio Telephone to Richard Bonner, with illustrations by Charles L. Wrenn. The contents list chapters titled The Power of the Air, The Radio Telephone and A Tale of the Colorado, among others. Dick explains to the boys that Professor Jerushah Jenks is a queer character and that they say he is a great authority on mineralogy and so on.
The professor says he must have at least fifty pounds of specimens on his back. The netting on the Wondership's bag is metal, to make it as conductive as possible, and a steel drag rope lowered to the ground lets a lightning discharge pass off harmlessly into the earth. Jack touches an electroscope with a bit of balloon cloth of the kind used on the Wondership, charged with 2,000 volts of electricity. Eph cries out that his hands are burning, and says he feels as if all his bones had turned to water.
