About this book
The Butterfly's Ball and the Grasshopper's Feast is by Mr Roscoe and is presented as a facsimile reproduction of the edition of 1808, with an introduction by Charles Welsh. In the verse, the Snail advances with step so majestic and promises the Gazers a Minuet to dance, but they all laugh so loud that he pulls in his Head and goes to Bed in his own little Chamber.
As Evening gave Way to the Shadows of Night, their Watchman, the Glow-worm, came out with a Light. Little Robert says that they should hasten home while they can still see, because no Watchman is waiting for you and for me, and his merry Companions return in a Throng.
