About this book
The Christian Year asks for abiding companionship from morning until evening and as night approaches, declaring that the speaker cannot live and dares not die without that presence. The prayer for rulers asks that their course be guided rightly and that everyone act as though under the Lord’s sight. The appeal for priests asks that they learn to bear their daily cross without counting the burden a loss.
The prayer for those in distress asks for watchfulness beside the sick, blessings for the poor and peaceful sleep for every mourner. The reflection on departed friends calls it sweet to consider in faith how their disappearance from sight increases the store in Paradise.
