About this book
The Chronicles of the Imp is by Jeffery Farnol. The volume also carries an appreciation of the author and his work by Clement K. Shorter. The contents list names, among others, Treasure Trove, The Sheriff of Nottingham and The Land of Heart's Delight.
In chapter I, Treasure Trove, a narrator sits fishing, rarely catches anything and is not fond of fishing in the smallest degree, yet fishes assiduously because circumstances demanded it. The Imp persuasively asks whether Mr. Selwyn could get him an ice-cream if he came up to the house. The Imp, smiling up with wet lashes, says he knew 'Timothy Bone' could never be a 'mutinous rogue' and turns to aid Dorothy aboard with the air of an admiral on his flagship.
