About this book
The philosophy of the complex vision uses the balanced ensemble of man's whole nature as its organ of research, addressing the demands of actual living human consciousness. The philosophy takes feelings and reactions to feelings as its material, including sympathies, antipathies, loves, hates, irrational intuitions, hopes and fears. The philosophy's rational form must recognize and include much that remains mysterious, arbitrary, undetermined, organic and obstinately illogical.
The discussion of machinery argues that inflexible material placed between human fingers and the working element interrupts the hands' instinctive aesthetic movement. The account of aesthetic sense describes an energy that resolves itself into opposed vibrations of the beautiful and the hideous.
