John Cowper Powys

John Cowper Powys (1872-1963) was an English novelist, poet, and itinerant lecturer, the eldest of a remarkable literary family. After years touring America as a public speaker, he turned to fiction, producing dense, philosophical novels rooted in the West Country, including A Glastonbury Romance and Weymouth Sands.
