About this book
The discussion of poultry as a livelihood argues that a man with no other means of support must produce chicken products efficiently or fail altogether. The account describes the growth of the poultry business as somewhat painful but steady, acknowledging that many people have lost money and abandoned it in disgust.
The feeding discussion says that feeding exclusively on wet mash is the only kind of feeding that will balance rations. The author regards individually guided feeding as out of the question in commercial chicken work. The rules for farmers are intended for people seeking profit from chickens without devoting more time and study to them than to cows, hogs, an orchard or a garden.
