About this book

The Egypt of the Hebrews and Herodotos has a contents list naming, among others, The Patriarchal Age, The Age Of Moses and The Exodus And The Hebrew Settlement In Canaan. The preface says that another contribution to the over-abundant mass of literature of which Egypt is the subject is intended to supplement the books already in the hands of tourists and students. The text describes a government as a highly organised bureaucracy, under a king who was already regarded as the representative of the Sun-god upon earth.

The text calls the statue of Khaf-Ra seated on his imperial throne, now in the Museum of Gizeh, one of the most striking statues in the world. The text calls the Book of Enoch a curious Apocalypse that seems to have been composed, at all events in its original form, and describes it as a vision of the end of all things and the judgment of mankind. The text says a short reign of six years was signalised by the destruction of Thebes.
