About this book

Mia Dennett, an art teacher from a prominent Chicago family, leaves a bar with Colin Thatcher after her boyfriend fails to arrive. Colin is involved in a plot targeting her family, but takes her to a remote Minnesota cabin instead of following the original plan. This psychological suspense novel follows the resulting search through Mia's mother Eve and detective Gabe Hoffman.

About the author

Mary Kubica

The Good Girl alternates between before and after an abduction and between the mother, the detective and the kidnapper, which is a lot of machinery for a first novel and mostly holds. Kubica writes domestic suspense set around Chicago and returns to the same question: how much a family can be wrong about one of its own members.
