The Ignatian Epistles Entirely Spurious is a reply to the Right Rev. Dr. Lightfoot by W. D. Killen. The preface says the volume is respectfully submitted to the candid consideration of all who take an interest in theological inquiries. The preface says the volume has been called forth by the appearance of a treatise entitled The Apostolic Fathers.
A chapter headed The Forgery of the Ignatian Epistles has a summary saying that we have no positive historical information as to the origin of the Ignatian Epistles and that they first saw the light in the early part of the third century. The contents list an appendix with, among others, a Letter of Dr. Cureton and The Ignatian Epistle to the Romans.
