About this book
The Invasion of America by J. W. Muller carries the subtitle A Fact Story Based on the Inexorable Mathematics of War. The preface says that in January, 1915, the writer was asked, assuming that an enemy landed an army on the American coast, what could actually be done with present resources used to their fullest possible extent, and that the story was written as the answer.
The text reports a silent alarm of the telegraph that the Great Coalition had declared War. The text says that forty-eight hours later the combined battle-fleet of the four Nations put to sea with its army transports, bound for the American coast. Under the heading Making a Fight for Boston, the text has the President playing with a pile of dispatches from Boston and New York.
