About this book

The Landlord at Lion's Head is a book by William Dean Howells. The note headed Bibliographical says the writer supposes the origin of this novel may be traced to a fortnight's sojourn on the western shore of lake Champlain in the summer of 1891. A painter named Jere Westover lets a boy carry his easel and campstool to a spot he has chosen, and the boy reads the name on the easel's tag.

Miss Lynde says she believes she will go to bed and that she feels rather drowsy. A speaker tells another person that in their first year at Harvard their associations were bad, and their conduct generally was so bad that they were suspended, and that they were arrested with other rowdy students and passed the night in a police station.
