The Little Colonel

The Little Colonel is the 1895 book by Annie Fellows Johnston (1863-1931) that launched one of the best-loved American children’s series of its era. It tells of the spirited little Lloyd Sherman, whose warmth thaws her stern old Confederate grandfather, against a sentimental Kentucky backdrop.
