About this book
The weekly commentary defines faith as holding reasonable convictions beyond the reach of final demonstration and committing one's life to those convictions as though they were certainly true. The study describes religious faith as the supreme use of an attitude employed in every other realm, requiring both vision and the courage to act.
The discussion of science acknowledges some excuse for accusations of pride, but generally attributes pride, dogmatism, and intolerance to ignorance rather than science. A prayer attributed to Henry Ward Beecher asks for faith that works through love and gives those who pray victory over the world and over themselves.
