The Pursuit of God
A. W. Tozer wrote this short devotional in 1948, reportedly during a single overnight train journey, and it has never gone out of print. His subject is the ache he believed sits at the center of every believer, a longing to know God directly rather than merely to know about him. Across ten brief chapters Tozer argues that much of modern religion has grown comfortable and shallow, and he calls readers back to a simpler hunger sustained by faith, humility, and attention. Each chapter closes with a prayer. Plainspoken and quietly demanding, the book remains a touchstone for Christians drawn to the older tradition of contemplative devotion. It is offered here as a free PDF and EPUB.
