About this book
The Universe a Vast Electric Organism is by Geo. W. Warder. A quotation taken from The Cities of the Sun says the universe is a vast electric machine or organism creating its own cosmic force. The contents list names chapters titled Electricity Produces All the Phenomena of Nature and Man Is a Soul Clad in Air, a Spirit in an Electric Organism, among others.
The book speaks of the growth in power and size of the earth as a great magnet, which as a great arc dynamo began to throb with electric energy. The book says the light we see does not come from the sun or stars and is generated in our own atmosphere. The book says there has been a vast difference of opinion among scientists about the heat of the sun, with Newton holding it to be 1,669,300 degrees hot, among others. The text reports that, according to Comte, the only object of science and philosophy is to observe, record and classify sensible phenomena.
