About this book
The Unknown Sea by Clemence Housman has a contents list running to chapters up to XVII and an epilogue. A solitary fisher ploughs the lively blue of a southern sea, and his fair hair and clear grey eyes tell of a northern race. A rocky spur bears the moulding of three figures, with the names hewn large: St. Mary, St. Margaret, St. Faith.
The lover of Diadyomene says that, to keep all evil from her, he would, God willing, enter hell. A speaker recalls baptizing her in the name of the blessed Trinity, but signing no cross. Rhoda asks how the speaker named her, and the answer is that the speaker named her Margaret.
