About this book
Tutors' Lane is by W. S. Lewis. A piece headed A SYLLABUS says that, having once, for a few months, had a literary column in a newspaper, the writer has come to admire those authors who place at the beginning of their books a word in which the whole thing is given away. The text shows Tom Reynolds walking along Tutors' Lane in the dusk of a March afternoon. Tom walks on until he comes to the Dean's driveway, and then turns into it.
Miss Balch asks someone, Are you really a realist? The text says Leofwin had adopted a very free-and-easy manner, it seemed to Tom. A speaker in the text asks Nancy to admit, though, that it was an awfully stupid thing for him to eat the cherries and milk.
