About this book
Guy Livingstone; or, Thorough, is a book by George A. Lawrence. One chapter says it is not a pleasant epoch in one's life, the first forty-eight hours at a large public school. The narrator says Guy went up to Oxford, and that six months later the narrator followed him. Livingstone disliked Selkirk heartily and did not take the trouble to conceal it.
Guy held on the even tenor of his way, seldom contravening the statutes except in hunting three days a week. Flora sank down on a convenient causeuse, still panting slightly, and said with a sigh, "Ah! what a waltz!" A speaker tells how, "After wrestling for a minute or two on the narrow path, we lost our footing and rolled down the rocks."
