In the seventh round Frankie notices a little desperation in Monroe's tactics, and the text says Monroe and Gordon needed a knockout to win while Frankie had only to stay on his feet to be home safe. Milt withdraws the control in the middle of the seventh round. Frankie says, “You wanted me to get mad!”
