About this book
Jean Jules Jusserand is the author of With Americans of Past and Present Days. The dedication says that thirteen years ago a new French ambassador presented his credentials. The dedication says the President was very young for a president, the youngest, in fact, the United States ever had.
The text says that toward England Turgot has a feeling of regret on account of its policies, but no trace of animosity. Quoted terms in the text say that for such parts of the land as may be taken for public use they shall be allowed at the rate of twenty-five pounds per acre, and that nothing is to be allowed for the ground which may be occupied as streets or alleys. The text asks whoever thought that he could see the day when he would accompany Robert Browning's remains to Westminster or mourn for the disappearance of Taine or Gaston Paris.
