About this book

The volume presents experimental, doctrinal, and practical works, with introductions to individual treatises, notes, and a sketch of the writer’s life, times, and contemporaries. The memoir’s opening heading identifies poverty, education, a brazier’s trade, military service, and marriage among the subjects of its account. The argument urges the honest-hearted coming sinner to approach without fear.

The argument describes coming to Christ as the result of a special gift of the Father. The discussion of sin says that sin blinds the mind, preventing the person concerned from seeing either mercy or judgment. The discussion of judgment distinguishes consumed flesh from souls reserved for another judgment.
