Bhabani Prasad Sahoo was a renowned Indian Odia writer, born on 12 December 1926 in Puri, Odisha. He is best known for his contribution to the Odia language literature, particularly his poetry and short stories. Bhabani Prasad Sahoo was the recipient of several prestigious awards for his contribution to Odia literature, including the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1977 and the Odisha Sahitya Akademi Award in 1975. He passed away on 21 January 2002 in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
