Shachindra Nath Bandopadhyay was born on 6 September 1920, in Kalighat Kolkata. He is a Bengali Poet, Literature, and a Dramatist.
He studied at Victoria’s collegiate school. In 1938 He passed in the first division and came to Kolkata. He got admitted to Ashutosh College, he wrote the song ‘Jani Jani Aaj Amare Pari Na Mane’, which impressed the rebel poet Kazi Nazrul Islam.
He was interested in literature from the time he was young, so it didn’t take him long to start writing and his works to become popular.
In 1888, the West Bengal State Government honored him with the Bankim Award for his novel ‘Bandare Bandare’.
