Tirthankar Roy

Tirthankar Roy was born on 14 February 1960, in Santiniketan, India. He is an Indian economic historian and Professor of Economic History at the London School of Economics.

He received an M.A. in Economics from Visva-Bharati University in West Bengal, India, and subsequently his Ph.D. from the Centre for Development Studies, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India.

He has published over 25 books and numerous articles. His works span many subjects.
