A. L. Sowards

A. L. Sowards writes historical fiction shaped by close attention to wartime settings, intelligence work, and the loyalties that bind people under pressure. Deadly Alliance follows Peter Eddy and Genevieve Olivier across intertwined missions in Europe, combining military suspense with a restrained love story. Covenant Communications issued this third Espionage entry in April 2014, after Espionage and Sworn Enemy, although the author also designed it to stand on its own. The book became a 2014 Whitney historical-fiction finalist. Sowards's own reading order places the three novels chronologically, while library records identify Deadly Alliance as a Second World War novel centered on an OSS courier and a commando operation. That documentary grounding is typical of her broader work, which moves across several centuries while keeping individual choices in view. For readers approaching Sowards through this title, its strongest context is the completed trilogy, its researched European backdrop, and its paired protagonists.
