Alex Alice
The Angel's Face is the second album of Le Troisième Testament, the medieval quest series Alex Alice began in 1997 with the writer Xavier Dorison for Éditions Glénat and closed after four volumes in 2003. Titan Comics issued it in English in 2014 as The Third Testament Vol. 2, following the inquisitor Conrad of Marburg and his companion Elisabeth from Toledo to the coast of Scotland. Alice was born on 2 November 1974 and grew up in the south of France, among the castles and ruins that keep reappearing in his pages. He trained at a Paris business school rather than at an art school, and printed his earliest drawings in the role-playing magazine Casus Belli. Siegfried, his version of Wagner's Ring, ran from 2007. Le Château des étoiles, known in English as Castle in the Stars, is his own script and his own watercolour, a nineteenth-century world of aether ships and Bavarian patrons owing much to Jules Verne. Robin Recht and Thimothée Montaigne drew the later Julius cycle.
