Alice Hunter

Alice Hunter is a name used by Samantha Hayes, a British crime writer with a substantial back catalogue under her own. The Serial Killer's Wife arrests a woman's husband and then spends the book on what she already knew and when, rather than on him. Hayes worked in a psychiatric hospital and with young offenders before writing, and the tension in her books sits in the domestic detail, in who cooks and who apologises, rather than in the crimes themselves.
