Amanda M Lee
Amanda M. Lee spent years as a newspaper reporter before she began writing fiction, and Michigan runs through almost everything she writes. Grim Offerings, from 2015, is the second Aisling Grimlock novel, following a young reaper who collects souls around Detroit while managing an overbearing father and four brothers, one of them her twin. Overedited & Underpaid (2023) belongs to her long-running Avery Shaw series, whose reporter keeps straying off her beat and into police business at a small paper in southeastern Michigan. The Secret's in the Sauce, also 2023, comes from the Two Broomsticks Gas & Grill mysteries, set in the one-stoplight town of Shadow Hills, where Stormy Morgan has come home to the family restaurant and found out that her relatives are witches. Lee publishes independently and fast, keeping several linked series going at once, among them Wicked Witches of the Midwest.
