Scikit-learn, the general-purpose machine learning library for Python, has had Andreas C. Müller among its core developers and maintainers for well over a decade. He took his doctorate in machine learning at Bonn, researched computer vision at Amazon, then joined the Center for Data Science at New York University and later lectured on applied machine learning at Columbia. He now holds a principal research software engineering post at Microsoft. Introduction to Machine Learning with Python, written with Sarah Guido and published by O'Reilly in 2016, is pitched at the same audience he taught. It walks through supervised and unsupervised methods, feature engineering, pipelines and model evaluation using scikit-learn, and deliberately keeps the mathematics light, aiming at working programmers rather than researchers.
