Head First Design Patterns has four authors, Eric Freeman, Elisabeth Freeman, Kathy Sierra and Bert Bates, and this hub carries only one of the four names. The book teaches the classic software design patterns through pictures, jokes and deliberately peculiar page layouts, on the theory that a wall of solid text is the least memorable way anybody has ever tried to learn something, and it has held its place for twenty years across two editions. Elisabeth Freeman has published since as Elisabeth Robson, which a reader will need to know before going looking for the rest of her work.
