Angela Ackerman

Angela Ackerman writes reference books for other writers, all of them with Becca Puglisi. The Urban Setting Thesaurus, from 2016, is the fifth: it takes more than a hundred and twenty city locations, from a fire station to a casino floor, and lists for each what can be seen, heard, smelled, tasted and touched there, along with the kinds of trouble that can plausibly begin in it. The pair are better known for The Emotion Thesaurus, which does the same job for the physical signals of feeling. Ackerman co-founded the Writers Helping Writers site and the One Stop for Writers database, and works as a writing coach.
