Annabel Monaghan
Nora Goes Off Script gives a woman who writes formulaic television romances a screenplay about her own divorce, which gets made, and then the actor playing her ex-husband asks to stay in the guest house.
Monaghan worked in finance and wrote young adult fiction before this, and the appeal is that the heroine has two children, a mortgage and a job, which the genre often quietly removes.
Same Time Next Summer followed. The books are short, warm and unusually specific about the economics of a single-parent household.
