Anne Enright

Anne Enright is an Irish novelist and short-story writer known for precise, unsentimental accounts of family life, memory, and social change. Actress is narrated by Norah, the daughter of fictional stage and screen performer Katherine O'Dell. Moving between Hollywood, Dublin, and London's West End, the novel reconstructs a career that has become inseparable from a daughter's effort to understand her mother. Enright uses celebrity, performance, and private storytelling to test who controls a public life after the applause fades. Her other fiction includes The Gathering, winner of the 2007 Man Booker Prize, The Green Road, and The Wren, the Wren.
