Barry Maz
Barry Maz teaches ukulele concepts from a British player's practical, beginner-conscious perspective. More Of What Ukulele Players Really Want To Know extends the question-based format of What Ukulele Players Really Want to Know. This second guide contains twenty-two chapters and addresses subjects encountered beyond the earliest lessons, among them theory, scales, technique, public performance, and playing with a club. It appeared in 2012 as part of Maz's wider Got A Ukulele project. His approach is that of a user's guide rather than a conventional step-by-step tuition course: terminology and choices experienced musicians may overlook are explained for newcomers. The volume forms the second entry in this practical guidebook sequence. Alongside these books, Maz publishes instrument reviews and beginner advice. His writing remains grounded in an active player’s viewpoint who remembers the questions raised during early learning and organizes accumulated experience into direct explanations.
