Don Fry

Fry spent years at the Poynter Institute coaching newspaper writers, which is a specific job: sitting with a reporter and a draft and asking what the story is actually about until they answer. Writing Your Way collects the method for people without a coach. His argument is that most writing problems are thinking problems, and that the fix is usually cutting rather than adding. He has worked with newsrooms across America and written on editing and on plain language.
