Beth Moran
Beth Moran studied biochemistry and worked in cancer research, then taught antenatal classes for ten years while raising her children, and her first novel, Making Marion, appeared in 2014. She writes contemporary fiction for Boldwood Books, set mostly in the villages around Sherwood Forest, minutes from her Nottinghamshire home, where she walks her cocker spaniel Murphy in the mornings. Just the Way You Are (2022) reached the UK top ten. Always On My Mind followed in March 2023: Jessie moves back in beside her twin brother Isaac and his friends, one of them Elliot, the man she loved before an accident she still blames herself for. Moran is a foster carer and special guardian to teenagers and babies, and says she had selective mutism as a child, an odd preparation for the conference and radio work she does now.
