Bonnie Traymore

Bonnie Traymore writes domestic and psychological thrillers about danger emerging inside workplaces, marriages, families, and other apparently stable settings. Head Case places English teacher Cassie Romano at Falcon Ridge Academy, an isolated private school in New York's Catskill Mountains. After a colleague dies and a cryptic letter arrives, Cassie questions the official assumption of an accident, although investigating may expose secrets from her own past. The book appeared from Pathways Publishing in 2023. Its remote winter campus gives ordinary professional rivalries a closed, threatening geography, while multiple viewpoints gradually reveal financial corruption, ambition, and concealed motives around the school. Traymore is a member of Mystery Writers of America and International Thriller Writers, and her background includes teaching at independent schools and universities. Those experiences lend specificity to a thriller in which institutional hierarchy matters as much as physical isolation. Cassie's inquiry tests who controls a school's public story when the people responsible for protecting it may have reasons to suppress the truth.
