Brad Magnarella

Brad Magnarella pairs a wizard with a talking cat for an urban-fantasy investigation in Suck It Up. This third Croft & Tabby adventure belongs to a prequel spin-off within the larger Croftverse. Fumigation drives Everson Croft and Tabitha from their apartment to the home of their friend Kayla, where they realize that something is draining her strength. Suspicious roommates and New York's punk scene complicate the search, while Tabitha's supernatural nature makes her an invaluable but unpredictable partner. Published in 2023, Suck It Up comes after Pox You and Back Off Witch. Its shorter length keeps attention on clues, banter, and the changing limits of cooperation between Croft and Tabitha. Magnarella also turns an ordinary housing disruption into the entrance to a contained magical case. The city remains recognizable even when unseen forces are active, so practical inconvenience and supernatural danger keep interrupting each other throughout the mystery.
