Brian Gordon
Brian Gordon drew for the greeting card company Hallmark for eighteen years, and in July 2013 began Fowl Language to say the things about raising children that a card cannot. The cast are ducks, chosen because ducks were one of the few animals he had rarely drawn for Hallmark. Redundancy came on 1 June 2015; within a couple of hours the Huffington Post was asking to run the strip, and Andrews McMeel brought out the first printed gathering of it, Fowl Language: Welcome to Parenting, in March 2016. Gordon had settled on cartooning in kindergarten, studied at Massachusetts College of Art and Design, finished a master's at Syracuse in 1997 and turned a Hallmark internship into a job that same year. His earlier strip Chuck and Beans ran on a blog he kept on the company's site. His four children supply most of the material.
