Catherine Saunders

Catherine Saunders creates and edits illustrated reference books and beginning readers built around well-known fictional worlds. Her credits span LEGO, Star Wars, Marvel, and other licensed properties, with an emphasis on clear explanations for children developing independent reading skills. LEGO Friends appears in bibliographic records as LEGO Friends: Summer Adventures, a 2013 DK Readers Level 3 book set in Heartlake City. Saunders follows Emma, Mia, Andrea, Stephanie, and Olivia through seasonal activities, using short chapters, photographs of LEGO scenes, and interactive prompts to support comprehension. She has returned to the same franchise in the LEGO Friends Character Encyclopedia and LEGO Friends: Let’s Go Riding!, while her LEGO NINJAGO work includes Team Ninja. Penguin Random House describes her as both an author and editor of licensed readers. That combined role suits books in which franchise accuracy, visual organization, and age-appropriate vocabulary must work together. LEGO Friends shows how Saunders turns an established toy setting into a structured reading experience rather than a simple character guide.
