Charles Bosworth Jr.
Twenty-seven years of daily newspaper reporting, twenty of them at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and most of that in courtrooms, sit behind Charles Bosworth Jr.'s true crime. Every Mother's Nightmare, published by Onyx in 1995, follows two women in a suburban St. Louis housing complex who barely knew each other until the same man killed both their children: Mari Winzen's three-year-old son Tyler and Jude Govreau's fifteen-year-old daughter Stacy Price, who had been babysitting. The book is largely about what the mothers and a single county prosecutor then had to do to get the case tried. Bosworth has written or co-written several other accounts of Missouri and Illinois cases, often with the investigators who worked them, and has kept to the same method: the transcripts, the interviews, and the families rather than the offender.
