Charles Franklin Thwing served as an American educator, Congregational minister, and longtime president of Western Reserve University and Adelbert College. His books joined practical questions about higher education with moral and religious reflection. The American College, What it Is, and What it May Become considers the purposes, organization, and future direction of the college, drawing on Thwing’s experience as an administrator. God in His World approaches faith through the relationship between divine presence and ordinary life.
