Before she published anything, Coble answered phones at an electrical supply firm in Wabash, Indiana, and took a year to finish a first novel around the job. Her brother Randy's death by lightning in 1990 pushed her to write in earnest, and her first four books were historical romances set in 1860s Wyoming for Barbour's Heartsong Presents imprint. Christian romantic suspense has been her line ever since, with roughly six million copies in print and the Holt Medallion, an ACFW Carol Award and the 2009 Best Books of Indiana fiction prize among the awards. Without a Trace was a Romance Writers of America RITA finalist in 2004. Twilight at Blueberry Barrens (2016) closes her Sunset Cove trilogy on the coast of Maine. Leaving Lavender Tides (2018) is a novella that sends newlyweds Shauna and Zach Bannister on a Hawaiian honeymoon cruise a stalker turns into a hunt. Strands of Truth (2019) stands alone; One Little Lie (2020) opens the Pelican Harbor series. She ran American Christian Fiction Writers for nineteen years as its chief and still sits on the board. She lives in Arizona with her husband Dave.
