Dana Marton
Dana Marton writes American romantic suspense and epic fantasy. Deathscape is an early Broslin Creek novel built around a criminal investigation, using the Pennsylvania setting shared by books such as Deathwatch, Deathtrap, and Deathblow. Marton wrote numerous novels for Harlequin Intrigue before developing independent series, bringing military, police, and survival pressures into stories where trust develops under danger. Her romantic suspense has received recognition from the Romance Writers of America and the Daphne du Maurier Awards, including a RITA Award for Flash Fire and Daphne honours for Camouflage Heart and Silent Threat. She has also published fantasy novels, among them Reluctant Concubine and Dragon Lord. Marton has described the humour that emerged in later Broslin Creek books as a counterweight to their criminal plots, while noting that Deathscape began in a darker register. The novel therefore helps establish both the community and the suspense framework that her subsequent Broslin Creek stories could expand, revisit, and occasionally lighten.
