Darren Sugrue
Darren Sugrue is an Irish novelist whose suspense fiction begins with an arresting intellectual problem and follows its emotional consequences. The Prediction centres on mathematician Daniel Geller, whose rejected formula appears able to forecast the date of a person's death. Twelve years after his academic collapse, evidence that one forecast came true draws him back toward his former professor, an old relationship, and a moral choice that cannot be solved by calculation alone. KDC Publishing issued the novel in 2013, and bibliographic evidence treats the book as Sugrue's debut. The story moves between Dublin and Amsterdam and combines mystery, psychological suspense, and a drama about grief and ambition. Sugrue later published The Shattered Conscience and Shred of Doubt, continuing his interest in tense situations shaped by conscience and uncertainty. His first novel remains a clear introduction to his method: a high-concept premise developed through relationships, divided loyalties, and unpredictable decisions made under pressure.
