Initiated into the Gardnerian tradition in the 1980s and a High Priestess since then, Deborah Lipp has taught Wicca, magic and the occult for decades, and works in legal technology as a systems specialist. Bending the Binary: Polarity Magic in a Nonbinary World came from Llewellyn in February 2023. It takes the male-and-female polarity underpinning much Western ritual practice and asks what is left of it once gender and orientation are not assumed, tracing the idea through Kabbalah, alchemy and Wiccan rite, then supplying exercises, journal prompts and tables of correspondence. Her earlier books include The Elements of Ritual, The Study of Witchcraft, Merry Meet Again and Tarot Interactions. She also wrote The Ultimate James Bond Fan Book, and founded the Mad Men site Basket of Kisses with her sister Roberta Lipp.
