Cron is an Episcopal priest and a licensed psychotherapist who writes and podcasts about the Enneagram, the nine-type personality system. The Road Back to You, written with Suzanne Stabile, is the book that carried it into American churches and then a long way past them. The system has no empirical support: it did not come out of research, its modern form runs through Óscar Ichazo and Claudio Naranjo in the twentieth century rather than through antiquity as is often claimed, and personality researchers do not use it. Cron presents it as a spiritual tool rather than a diagnostic one.
